Hydraulic Calculations for Sprinkler and Drencher systems
LNA has used the IDAT software programs WinSprink and SpriCAD for a number of years. The WinSprink program is used for hydraulic calculation of sprinkler and drencher systems and the SpriCAD software for designing and evaluating these systems. SpriCAD is an add-on program to Autocad 2012 that has its own toolbars which can be used to create a plan view and an isometric representation of the system simultaneously.
The sprinklers are placed either automatically or manually with the pump location and the most unfavourable sprinkler locations are available at the click of a button. Once the system is closed the data is transferred to WinSprink which calculates pressures, pressure losses, flow rates, diameters and lengths of pipes and fittings, the amount of water in the pipe and difference in heights of components.
The calculation is recognised by all major classification societies. The modelling process is suitable both for new building projects and for modifications to existing vessels where additional zones are required, e.g. lengthening. This software can also be used on land based applications.
Give the team at LNA a call if you have any questions about your sprinkler and drencher systems.
