Jurong Shipyard

New building of 2500TEU / 22.7 knots container ships: LNA was contracted to work on the design of five 210-metre container ships currently under construction in Singapore . The project involved design optimisation, determination of principal particulars, basic design, lightweight estimation, payload and propulsion calculations, hull lines and creation of 3-D NAPA hull model, model testing at HSVA.
DFDS SEAWAYS
Upgrade of eight North European Ro-Ro passenger ferries to meet new dry-shod evacuation standards. These ferries each carry between 800 and 2000 passengers plus associated vehicles and freight trailers. LNA designed and project managed the installation of the new equipment working with suppliers from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Poland.
Upgrade of Ro-Ro passenger ferry King of Scandinavia to meet new stability standards (Stockholm agreement). LNA did extensive damage stability analysis, managed the fitting of new watertight bulkhead with all related changes to below deck accommodation and systems, and all documentation and approvals.
Scanlines
Replacing all four MES systems with new more effective ZODIAC systems on Ro-Ro passenger ferry M/S Aurora af Hälsingborg while the vessel was in 24/7 service between Sweden and Denmark. Design, plan approval, planning and project management.
M/S SPIRIT OF TASMANIA I & II
(ex Superfast III & IV) 27-knot 1400-passenger RoRo ferries: These ships entered service Melbourne-Devonport, Australia September 2002. Tasks included:
- Pre-purchase study of existing fast RoRo passenger vessels for replacement of TT-Line existing tonnage including outlining desired modifications to suit their needs;
- Pre-purchase inspections;
- Design of accommodation modifications, design of berthing modifications;
- Creation of 3D NAPA ship model for damage stability calculations to Stockholm Agreement compliance and other stability documentation as required by Australian Maritime Authorities; Ship inclining and Stability Information Booklet
M/S SPIRIT OF TASMANIA III


(ex Superfast II) 26-knot 1400-passenger RoRo passenger ferry. Entered service Sydney-Devonport, Australia January 2004. Tasks included:
- Create 3D NAPA computer ship model and carry out extensive calculations relating to intact and damage stability issues and capacities; 2004 Conversion ship inclining; all relevant documentation for authorities;
- Design and supervise accommodation modifications: addition of 32 new crew cabins and related services constructed on the uppermost deck together with various other refurbishment of public and crew accommodation prior to the ship entering service in Australia.
